Planning family holidays in Kaprun: summer or winter?
In summer, Kaprun pays off twice for families: the Summer Card covers cable cars, reservoirs, gorge, boat trips and lidos for every family member, children included. In winter the Maiskogel takes over with practice slopes and ski schools at the base station; small children born 2021 or later ski free, and from the third child onwards the rest are free too. There's no wrong season, just different programmes.
The child-friendly chalet for families
Six bedrooms means every child gets their own kingdom, the parents get theirs, and nobody sleeps on a fold-out. Add 3 bathrooms against the morning queue, a full kitchen for children's meals without menu debates, 1,000 m² of garden to run around in and terraces facing the mountains.
