The Zell am See Summer Card is the most valuable piece of plastic you'll carry this holiday: cable cars, boat trips, lidos and the region's big sights are fully covered, every day of your stay. You can't buy it anywhere. The card only comes with partner accommodations such as Chalet Kaprun, handed over at check-in. Here's what's inside and how it works.
What is the Zell am See Summer Card?
The Summer Card is the region's guest card for the warm season, valid from 15 May to 31 October 2026. Every guest receives one from the first night in a partner accommodation, children included, each as a personal, non-transferable card. It covers your whole stay including arrival and departure day and bundles 18 premium partners at no charge plus 24 bonus partners with discounts (as per the official 2026 booklet).
One thing to know: the card isn't for sale anywhere. If you want it, you need an accommodation that takes part. Chalet Kaprun is an official partner.

All premium services can be used again and again during your stay, not just once. The highlights:

How the Summer Card works
- Digital or plastic: the card lives in the wallet of the Zell am See-Kaprun app, or you carry the physical version. Photos and screenshots aren't accepted at the gates.
- As often as you like: all premium services reset daily, they're not one-offs.
- High-season rule (15 July to 15 September): on arrival day the card starts at 3 pm, and four attractions only open up from your second day: the summit rides on Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn, the boat round trip (then once daily) and the reservoirs.
- Public transport is separate: buses and trains run on the Guest Mobility Ticket, which overnight guests in the province of Salzburg receive automatically.
Which accommodations include the card?
Only registered partner businesses may hand out the card, from hotels to chalets. Chalet Kaprun is an official partner: every guest receives a Summer Card at check-in, at no extra cost.
Don't confuse it with the standard guest card (discounts rather than free entry) or the Guest Mobility Ticket for public transport. Both come with any overnight stay in the region, all year. The Summer Card is the far bigger package and tied to partner hosts.
What is the Summer Card worth?
A sample calculation for five holiday days, all at regular 2026 single-ticket prices, for a family with two children (ages 6 to 15), one visit per sight:

Summer at Chalet Kaprun: card included, quiet included
At Chalet Kaprun the Summer Card is waiting at check-in for every guest, from toddler to grandma. After that you decide each morning: glacier, lake or reservoirs, everything starts a few minutes from the front door. With 6 bedrooms and space for 10 people the card pays off tenfold, and the evenings belong to the Finnish sauna and the terraces on 1,000 m² of grounds. Your dog is welcome too.

Yes, in the wallet of the official Zell am See-Kaprun app. Only the app card or the physical card are valid, no photos or screenshots.
